Take It From Here :: Chapter FourteenChapter Fourteen
The next morning, Audrey woke up with the mother of all hangovers. She looked over on the nightstand and read that it was only 9am, but she got out of bed anyway. She stood up and stretched before walking to the dresser to look herself over in the mirror. She looked at the mirror and what she saw made her cover her mouth with her hand and slowly back away. One the mirror was a Polaroid of her and Justin during their ‘make out session’ last night, and below it, ‘tsk, tsk, tsk’ was written on the mirror in her pink lipstick. She quickly ran out of the room, and into Justin’s.
“Justin, get up, we’re leaving.” No response. “NOW!” she yelled.
“Aud, it’s like 9am, I’m not getting up, and we’re not leaving” he yawned, as he pulled the covers over his head.
She pulled the comforter right off the bed, “Justin, this is an EMERGENCY! I need you to come into my room, RIGHT NOW!”
“Woah, calm down, ok, ok, I’m up, I’m up…” he slowly trudged out of the room, and into Audrey’s room. “Ok, I’m here, now what?”
“Dresser mirror” she pointed, as she grabbed her personal belongings, putting them into her suitcase.
“WHAT THE F-?!” his eyes blazed with anger as soon as he realized what was scribbled on the mirror. He made his way to the mirror, and ripped the Polaroid off and tried to make sense of everything going on. He took the picture in his hands and paced around the room, holding it in front of him, trying to figure out where it was taken.
“What kind of sick person would do this?!” he asked to no one in particular, then he started to panic, “Audrey, I’m so sorry, this REALLY wasn’t supposed to happen. I don’t know how this happened, but we’ll get to the bottom of it, I’ll call Mike, and get him to--”
Her head snapped up and looked at him sternly, “You cannot, I repeat cannot call Mike, he can’t find out about this! This could ruin everything! Do you realize what this picture could do to your career?! I could get fired! Hell I WILL be fired!” She sat at the edge of the bed and began massaging her temples, “Who, wha- this is unbelievable, I mean, we have to leave! Now! We can’t stay here anymore! This, this, this is insane Justin. Who would do this? Oh my god I’m getting a migraine.”
Justin sat in a chair across the room trying to give her some space. “I agree, ok, let’s get our stuff together and we can check out, it’s almost noon anyways”
Audrey nodded her head, and got up off the bed, grabbing her suitcase. She was standing by the door, and ready to leave, but Justin was still in his room, trying to stuff all the stuff he bought the other night, into one suitcase.
“Uhh…Aud? Can you give me a hand here?”
She rolled her eyes and made her way to Justin’s room. When she got to the doorway, she saw him on the floor, sitting on his suitcase and trying to zip it up at the same time.
“I told you not to buy out the Harley store, but did you listen? Noooooo!” she joked.
“I told you not to buy out the Harley store, but did you listen? Noooooo!” he mimicked in higher pitched, childish tone. “How about, instead of lecturing me, you come over here, and actually give me a hand?”
She helped him zip up the suitcase, and 15 minutes later, they were down at the front desk trying to get his money refunded since they wouldn’t be staying longer. This time, the receptionist wasn’t Rheanna, but a balding, overweight man. He kind of reminded them of Lou Pearlman.
Justin shuddered at the thought, “Sir, for the last time, there was nothing wrong with the Suite. It was beautiful, but we need to leave for personal reasons. By all means we hope you take no offence to that…” Justin was trying to remain calm, but this man was making it very hard.
“Mr. Timberlake, I assure you that our service is normally not like this, I’m sure whoever has displeased you will be discharged…”
Was this guy for real? Who said anything about bad service? Audrey could see that Justin was just about ready to blow his top, so she decided now was a good time to intervene. “Mr. Uh…Tom, the service was wonderful, and I swear no one will hear about anything that wasn’t to our liking…all we want to do is return our card key, and leave. No questions asked.”
Tom sighed, and ran a hand over his face. “Alright, but please take this complimentary continental breakfast in return.”
“Oh, we really don’t—“ Audrey elbowed Justin in the side to stop him from dragging this on any longer. She accepted the coupon for the complimentary breakfast, and they were on their way.
The ride back was silent, until they got to about Barstow, and Justin decided to speak up. “So…uh…what are we…uhh…supposed to y’know…do about…um…y’know…”
She sighed deeply before answering, “Forget about it, I guess, like, it was probably some obsessed fan, or paparazzi who climbed up to the window…I mean, they couldn’t have meant much harm since they left the picture…so yeah, we’ll just forget it and deny everything. It’s my job to cover things up, and plus, by the angle, you can’t even tell that it’s me in that picture, they have no proof…”
“Aud, we can’t just brush this off as nothing! Someone was obviously in our room last night, and quite frankly, that scares me.”
She shook her head, “I’ll figure something out, just…don’t worry, I’ll handle it.”
He decided not to take it any further; he knew she’d just put up her tough front, so why bother?
They made it back to the house in 4 hours. As soon as she got her foot through the door, Audrey headed straight for the answering machine, fully expecting there to be at least 20 messages. Oddly, there were only three new messages. She pressed and the play button, plopping onto the couch, preparing her for whatever yelling she was in for.
The first message, “Audrey, hi, Stevens here, I tried calling you cellular phone, but I kept getting a recording saying it was off…I hope you get this message in time, because there’s been a change of plans, the meeting has been rescheduled to Wednesday afternoon, so we need you down here Wednesday morning, if you get this message in time, you have a flight scheduled for 9:15AM. Audrey, it is crucial that you make it for this meeting, we have a number of things to discuss. I’ll be seeing you on Wednesday, don’t forget, your ticket is at the front desk at LAX.” She sighed, feeling quite relieved that they came home in time for her to get the message, but also a little leery as to what the ‘crucial meeting’ would be about.
The tape flipped to the second message and she heard a very deep southern voice, “Yo Audrey, Tim here, I told Justin that we’d be able to start recordin’ this Friday, but no can do babygirl, Missy’s havin’ a bomb ass party and I just gotta be there. Tell JT that we’ll start on Tuesday, I know, I know, why not Monday, come on girl! You expect me to be sober all weekend? Aw HELL naw. I’ll be seein’ you, I holla.” She quietly laughed at Timbaland’s way of just getting to the point, and not bullshitting his way out of things.
The answering machine clicked over to the third message. Audrey smiled at the female voice she knew all too well. “Hi Audrey! How’s my baby boy? I’m just callin’ to tell y’all that I miss y’all so much, I know it’s only been a few days, but I worry. Justin baby, I tried calling your cell phone but I kept getting the voicemail…I’m a little scared, I can’t shake this feeling, I want you to call me A.S.A.P. alright honey? Well I’ve got to get back to work. I love y’all! Oh, before I forget, Justin, your dad called and said that Jon’s flight is scheduled to come in at 5:48 PM,” she emphasized the ‘pm’ part, “Friday morning, he’s real excited! Alright, now I’ve really got to go! Love you!”
Audrey got up from the couch and made her way to the kitchen to fix herself something to eat, when she realized what Lynn had said, “Jon at 5:48…wha—oh hell no…” she turned on her heels and headed upstairs to where she assumed Justin was.
She burst through his door without knocking and regretted it the instant her foot entered the room. As she walked in, Justin was in the process…or actually had just removed his towel. She let out a scream, and quickly turned around, shielding her eyes. Justin’s eyes bulged out as he grabbed his towel and wrapped it around his waist once again.
“Oh my God! Do you always walk around your room naked?!” she shrieked.
“Do you always run into a room without knocking?!” he retorted.
“Well I—NO but—ok FINE! That was rude…but I’m pissed!”
“That’s your reason? You’re pissed? Hell I’m pissed right now, but you don’t see me barging into your room while you’re nekkid?”
She turned around, and realized that he was still standing there, with a towel on, but still…semi naked. “Christ Justin! The bathroom is two steps away, couldn’t you at least be a little discreet?!”
“Ain’t nothing to be discreet about baby, you’ve seen all there is to see on Justin Timberlake” he said smoothly as he puffed out his chest trying to look ‘manly’.
She rolled her eyes at him, and walked to his dresser and pulled out a pair of boxers and a wife beater, and threw them at him. He thanked her and walked into the bathroom.
“So, as I was saying, I’m pissed.”
“I think that’s already been established Aud. Question is, why are you pissed?”
“Ok, well, first of all, when I agreed to you living here, I in no way meant that I would baby-sit little children. Your mom called saying that Jon was coming on Friday and quite frankly, I have no time to take care of a 6 year old! I mean, I miss that kid like crazy but kids that age are extremely uncontrollable, and don’t even say that I don’t have to worry because you’re going to take care of him, because I know you’re going to be insanely busy recording, and I don’t even think I’m going to be here this weekend, and I don’t want Jon to feel neglected…”
Justin emerged from the bathroom, fully clothed this time, “Is that the reason why you’re pissed? Come on Aud, I’ll put off some stuff for a while and spend some time with him. I haven’t seen the kid in 4 months, and you expect to call him, just to say ‘Jon, you can’t come and visit me because I’m too busy’. And I don’t expect you to take care of him either, you’re not a babysitter and I know that…I got it all covered.”
She looked at him skeptically for a moment before getting up and heading out the door, “Whatever J, I didn’t delete the messages, so just press play. Timbaland left a message too, oh and by the way, I leaving for New York tomorrow morning.”
He walked to the door and was about to ask why she was leaving, when, as if reading his mind, she simply stated, “answering machine”.
__
The next morning, Audrey woke up at 7am and trudged into the shower. As the hot water hit her skin, a million ‘what ifs’ about the upcoming meeting ran through her mind. Her fear of being fired topped all the ‘what ifs’ off.
She turned the shower off and stepped out of the shower. Twenty minutes later, she was dressed in her pinstripe skirt and blazer and ready to leave for whatever news she was going to receive.
She glanced at her watch, “8:06”. She dragged her suitcase out of her room and stopped in front of Justin’s door. She slowly opened the door, peeking inside to make sure he was still sleeping. Obviously, he was, so she tiptoed to the bed. He was sleeping on his stomach and was bare from the waist up. She poked his shoulder trying to wake him up but only got groans and attempted swats at her. With one last attempt, she flicked his ear really hard, which caused him to sit up and rub his ear.
“LORD WOMAN! WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM?!” he whined.
“I’m leaving now…just thought I’d remind you that this is my house so you know the rules; no partying, no ‘escorts’, no intense boozing, no open house, and NO strippers” she lectured, purposely trying to sound ‘motherly’ to get her point across.
“Go away. Need. Sleep. Go.” He groaned.
“Justin! I’m serious!”
He gave up on trying to ignore her and sat up in defeat. “Do you seriously not trust me enough to leave and know that I’m not a damn child?! God Audrey, I give you respect, why can’t you return at least half of it?”
She was slightly taken aback by his sudden outburst, and took a step back meekly excusing herself. “I was just um-kidding, just forget it…”, she glanced at her watch before continuing, “I-I better get going, I’ll see you on Saturday…” she turned around, walking out of the room and shutting the door behind her.
__
Audrey’s flight number had just been called and she got up from her seat to walk towards her gate when she heard her cell phone ring. She set her bags back down and fished around her purse for the ringing object. After 4 rings, she found it and clicked it on.
“Hello? Audrey Chambers speaking,”
Her ear was met by the sound of Justin’s voice, “I’m sorry,” he said apologetically.
“What?!” she asked, extremely confused as to what he was apologizing for.
“For being an ass this morning, I’m really sorry, I just wanted to tell you that before you left, so y’know, you didn’t think that I was pissed enough to get all crazy on the house…”
She smiled thoughtfully into the phone, “Don’t sweat it J, no big deal, I should’ve known better than try to deal with your ass in the wee hours of the morning,” she heard the final boarding call for her flight, so she quickly wrapped up her conversation, “Hey J, they just announced the final boarding call, and if I miss this flight I’m dead, so I’ll talk to you later k? Oh and by the way, apology accepted.” She didn’t wait for a reply, and just clicked the phone off, grabbed her bags and headed towards the gate.
Three hours later, Audrey was walking down the terminal at the John F. Kennedy International Airport. The flight was absolute hell for her. She was seated next to a hyperactive 15 year old named Nadia, that immediately recognized her the second she took her seat. From the moment the plane took off till the instant it landed Audrey was bombarded with questions regarding NSYNC and ‘OH MY GOD JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE’.
Once she made her way through the airport, she managed to hail a cab, and headed to her first destination: The Four Seasons Hotel. Because of the insane traffic, it took an hour to get to the hotel, resulting in an insanely high fare. This was quickly turning into the day from hell.
She checked in at the front desk, received a message from Mr. Stevens ordering that she ‘go down to the office as soon as she arrived’, and made her way up to her room to drop off her bags.
Doing as she was told, she deposited her belongings in the room, and once again, headed out to hail a cab yet again. An hour and a half and 40 dollars and 36 cents later, she was walking into the Jive Records building. She was greeted by Linda, the receptionist.
“Audrey! It’s good to see you! Goodness it’s been so long!” she greeted enthusiastically. It had been two years since the two had seen each other. The last time Audrey saw her, the woman was 9 months pregnant and having contractions 8 minutes apart.
“Linda! You look amazing! How’s the baby? Or should I say toddler, I never did find out whether you had a boy or girl.”
Linda smiled proudly, “Boy”. The two women exchanged excited shrieks. The reminiscing was cut short when Audrey realized that she had a meeting to get to.
“I’m sorry to cut this short, but I was told that we were having some sort of ‘crucial meeting’ today, and I would hate to keep the big man waiting. Do you know anything about it?”
“Oh right, that…I almost forgot! It’s up on the 6th floor, boardroom 4…good luck” she smiled.
“Uh…thanks…c’ya!” Audrey made her way to the elevators, and up to the 6th floor. The second she stepped off the elevator, everyone she passed on her way to the boardroom gave her sympathetic looks. She finally reached Boardroom 4 and took a deep breath before turning the door handle.
“Mr. Stevens I’m so sorry I’m late traffic is he--” she was stopped short when she saw Janie Brenner sitting at the table, arrogantly smiling at her.
“Ms. Chambers, I’m sure you remember Ms. Brenner…” Mr. Stevens started. Of course she remembered Janie Brenner--the one woman that had the power to make her life a living hell. Janie was head of public relations for NSYNC since they began recording ‘No Strings Attached’ and was never accepted by the guys as ‘part of the group’. It seemed to royally piss her off when Audrey came along and was taken in as if she’d known them forever. One could say that there was a bit of tension between the two.
Janie got up and stuck her hand out, and in a sickeningly sweet voice, said, “Audrey darling, it’s been too long”
Audrey returned her gesture by giving her a fake smile and shaking her hand. “Not long enough” she muttered under her breath.
“Now, Ms. Chambers, if you wouldn’t mind taking a seat, I’d like to get down to business.” Audrey obliged and took the seat farthest away from Janie. “So, you’re probably wondering why you were so urgently called to this meeting, Audrey.” She nodded. His voice was so calm yet full of authority that she was getting nervous as to what was coming next. She could feel her palms getting sweaty, so she discretely wiped her hands on her skirt.
“I’m not sure if you’ve seen yesterday’s issue of People Weekly, and judging by your expression, I sense that you haven’t, but the hot topic is your relationship with Mr. Timberlake.”
Audrey was beginning to feel nervous, actually, nervous was an understatement, she was terrified. “People Weekly? Shit, that’s not a tabloid…it’s bound to be true” her thoughts were interrupted by Janie sliding a copy of the magazine across the table in her direction. Sure enough, on the cover was a picture of Justin, the caption reading, “New Lady Love?” bordered with pictures of the two of them at her house and in Vegas; elevator, hotel room and all. She wanted to explain what happened, but couldn’t think of where to start. She looked in Janie’s direction and saw that she had a satisfied smirk on her face.
Mr. Stevens cleared his throat to get everyone’s attention. “Now Audrey, you know the J Records policy, and because of all this unwanted publicity before the debut of Justin’s album, I’m afraid I’ve got some bad news for you…” He let out an audible sigh, “I’m sorry to say, but I’m going to have to let you off the project.”
Suddenly it all made sense to Audrey; why it was the meeting was so ‘crucial’, why Janie was there and all the sympathetic looks. They were firing her.
Mr. Stevens continued, “which brings us to why Ms. Brenner is here, she is going to be taking over all promotional affairs as well as Mr. Timberlake’s schedule and other such affairs. All files have already been transferred to her database, so all you need to do is clear out your office…Audrey, I hope you don’t think that this is the end, because I’m more than happy to write you a letter of recommendation.” She shook her head as tears began to well up in her eyes, “I don’t have an office…” she whispered. Just when she thought she had received the worst of it, Janie piped in.
“All the better. By the way Audrey, honey, since you’re no longer part of the Jive family, you won’t be needing that extravagant house they’re paying for. So I suggest apartment hunting, I hear some of the south side apartments are going for less than 200 bucks a month” she was trying to sound sympathetic and helpful, but nothing could hide the evil look in her eyes.
Mr. Stevens sighed heavily once again, indicating that this was a very tough decision to make on his part, and was doing all things possible to make it easier for Audrey, “I know you weren’t expecting this, so we’d be more than happy to pay for your accommodations at the hotel, and you’re welcomed to stay there for as you like…”
Audrey got up, and gathered her things, “Mr. Stevens, if that’s all, I’ll be going now…Good luck with your retirement sir, I’m sure Barry Weiss will do a great job filling your shoes.” She closed the door behind her, still not letting the threatening tears spill out of her eyes.
She walked down the corridor, and into the elevator, ignoring all the “I’m so sorry’s” and “you’ll be missed”. As she stood impatiently waiting for the elevator, she received a tap on the shoulder. She turned around to face a smirking Janie.
“Don’t you think you’ve done enough damage for one day Janie?” asked Audrey with slight bitterness to her tone.
Janie let out a laugh that could only be described as evil. “Not quite. You see sweetie, I know all about your little fling with Justin Timberlake, and I’ve talked the head execs into cutting off all ties you have to him so that we don’t have to worry about you getting in the way of anyone’s success.”
Audrey used every once of will power to refrain from ripping this girl’s hair out. She heard the elevator ‘ding’ and the doors opened. She carefully entered the elevator and made sure to flip Janie off just as the doors closed. She got off on the main floor and walked right past Linda who was calling after her.
She walked out of the revolving doors to the building that had given her all of life’s most wonderful opportunities, and out to the world that had caused her to lose anything and everything that was once stable thing in her life. As she walked out onto the pavement, drops of water began to hit her as the rain began to pour. That was the last straw. Everything was just coming to a crash and burn ending around her, that she finally let out her tears. Since money was from now on going to be on a tight budget, she opted for walking back to the hotel instead of taking another 40-dollar cab ride back. On the plus side, the walk back gave her time to think about what she would do with her life.
She took her time walking back, taking detours here and there, and walking through Central Park. Sure it was pouring, and she was soaked to the bone, but nothing was really worth anything to her anymore. There weren’t many people in the park, she probably looked insane walking around, soaking wet, in a business suit, but she didn’t care. She heard footsteps behind her, but didn’t think to look back. She felt a hand on her back, and she whipped her head around to come face to face with a tall, young guy, who looked about her age, with short dirty blonde hair and crystal blue eyes.
“Excuse me, miss? Are you alright?” he asked, his voice full of concern.
“Me?” she asked, pointing to herself.
He smiled at her, “you’re the only one standing out here crying, aren’t you?”
“Yeah, I guess I am, huh?” she replied coyly.
“Um, I was walkin’ across the street over there, and I noticed that you were, well…walking in the rain, and I thought y’know, uh…It’s really comin’ down now, and I would hate for you to get pneumonia or somethin’, and I’ve got an umbrella…and I was kinda wonderin’ if I could walk you to wherever it is you’re going? I-I understand if you think that I’m completely weird, or that I’m some psycho, but I assure you my intentions are anything but harmful” he was a little embarrassed and shy and she noticed his cheeks turning a slight shade of pink.
She nodded gratefully, “Yeah, that’d be nice…my name’s Audrey, by the way.”
“I’m Darren.”
“Nice to meet you Darren.”
“Nice to meet you too Audrey. So, where exactly are you heading?”
“Four Seasons.” He simply nodded.
The two walked in silence until Audrey felt that maybe he was too shy to strike up a conversation, “So…Daaaarrrren, do you normally walk around saving poor defenceless women from the rain?”
He let out a small laugh, before answering, “Actually, yes—no, I’m just kidding, it’s just that you um…kinda looked like you were having a bad day, and I didn’t really have anyplace important to go, so I figure, I’ve got an umbrella and you don’t, might as well make the most of it”
“Well, thanks for makin’ the most of it.”
“Uh…if you don’t mind me asking, what’s a pretty girl like you doing walking in Central Park alone, in the rain no less…”
“It’s kind of complicated…let’s see…how do I put this…I got fired, and my life is crap.” She stated bluntly.
“Ouch, that’s harsh…I’m really sorry…”
“Don’t be, it’s not like it’s your fault or anything, I really don’t need sympathy. Bloody revenge sounds pretty good right about now though…”
As Darren was about to say something, he saw that they were already walking up to the hotel entrance. Audrey turned to him, “Thanks so much for coming to my ‘rescue’, if you will. You really brought some light to my situation.” She said sincerely.
“It was really my pleasure Ms. Audrey. Uh…Um…y’know, I was just wonderin, if maybe you know, if you would mind if I called you sometime…”
“Actually, I don’t live here, and by the looks of it, I won’t be needing to come back…”
His facial expression dropped, “Oh…right…well, it was nice talkin’ to ya…” He turned around and slowly walked away.
Audrey’s conscience kicked in right about then, “Stupid Audrey! The man just saved you from getting pneumonia and all he wanted was your number, go give it to him! What are you still standing there for?” She bit her lip, and turned around, and yelled, “Hey Darren!” He quickly whipped his body around to face her.
“Um…I’d give you my number but I just got kicked out of my house, and I’m not sure how long my cell phone plan’s gonna hold out without payment, so I don’t really have a number to give you, but maybe if you give me your number, I could give you a call sometime…”
His face lit up, “Yeah! Definitely, um, so you have a pen or something?”
“Actually, I’ve got a palm pilot, even better!” he gave her his phone number, and she thanked him once again. Then they went their separate ways, and Audrey headed up to her hotel room.
As soon as she walked into her hotel room, reality hit her like a ton of bricks. She saw her briefcase that contained all paperwork and contracts concerning the ‘Justin Timberlake solo project’, and the lap top that was supposed to launch the official Justin Timberlake website. Those images were soon replaced by the thought of Janie Brenner taking control of everything. The thought made Audrey sick to her stomach. She rushed into the bathroom and leaned over the toilet bowl. Minutes later, she rid herself of her drenched clothing, and hopped into the shower.
Half an hour later, she emerged from the bathtub, and wrapped a thick white towel around her body as she walked out of the bathroom. She rummaged through her suitcase and found a pair of white sweatpants and a red tank top. Once she got changed, she picked up her laptop and sat down on the bed with it. Clicking the ‘on’ button, she set it aside waiting for it to fully load. She came to a realization that she still needed to tell Justin the news. She quickly picked up the room phone and dialled her house number. After 2 rings, he picked up.
“Holla back, JT man here” she rolled her eyes at his stupid wannabe ghetto accent.
“Hey.”
“Aud? Hey! What’s up?” he sounded so happy-go-lucky, she could already see his reaction once she dropped the news on him.
“J, they-they-they-” Her voice cracked and her eyes began to get watery just trying to get the words out.
“They what?” he asked softly.
“They fired me J!” by this time, she couldn’t control herself; she let the tears fall freely as she attempted telling Justin everything that happened.
“WHAT?!” he yelled, his voice full of anger.
“They fired me! People Weekly published an issue with our pictures on it, and Stevens said something about unwanted publicity, some shit like that, but Justin, that’s not the worst part” she said in between sobs, “J-Janie Brenner’s taking my place, they’re kicking me out of that house, and cutting off all my ties to you.”
“THEY CAN’T DO THIS! I WON’T LET THEM! Audrey I’m so sorry. Janie Brenner? Why in the hell would they take her back? JANIE BRENNER?! Oh they’re gonna hear from me…they’re gonna hear real good…”
“No, Jay, don’t bother, no use bitching and moaning now, I’m fired, gone, let go…I’m going to shoot Janie Brenner…better yet, maybe I should hire a mob to break her legs…”
“How bout this, we go to Millington and you can stay with me and my mom there, until we find you an apartment…or I could get you a hotel room here in L.A. I’ll even pay for it, or we--”
“Justin! There is no ‘we’. I’ve been forbidden to make or attempt any contact with you whatsoever. Hell, they’ve probably got my phone lines tapped right now. But I, we can’t ever associate ever again…”
“They can’t do that! They can’t just forbid me to talk to the people I love”
“Oh yes they can. Remember Lance’s Heather fiasco last year?”
Justin ran a hand over his face, “I’m not gonna stop talking to you just because some ice bitch is on a power trip Audrey, we’ll figure this out.”
“There’s no use J, she’s got more authority now than she’s ever had with Jive…I better go, I wouldn’t wanna get sued or something on top of getting fired…I think I’m still allowed to see you on Saturday since I’ll be packing up my stuff to go to God knows where…”
“Wait-what do you mean Saturday? You’re still gonna stay in New York when you don’t have to?”
“Stevens said I was welcomed to stay as long I wanted, and Jive would pay for accommodations, so I’m gonna milk those bastards for all they’ve got…C’ya J.” with that, she hung up the phone, and placed her lap top on her lap. She brought up the file named ‘Crunkmaster J’ courtesy of Justin, right clicked and deleted. The “are you sure you would like to permanently delete ‘Crunkmaster J’ and all its contents?” message window popped up, and she took a deep breath before clicking ‘yes’.
